This 13 inch tall doll, circa the 1930s-1940s, is in all original condition with her original costume. The all composition doll is jointed at the neck, shoulders, and hips. She has painted facial features and a solid dome head. The doll wears a cotton nun’s habit complete with black cotton underclothing, black socks, and shoes. I have not undressed her as I do not want to disturb the originality. The composition shows no repaint to the facial features and limited crazing. There is some slight wear to the fingers of the left hand. Someone, in the distant past, probably the original owner from the appearance of the note, has sewn a label onto the clothing indicating that this doll is named, “Sister Genevieve.” I appreciate the originality of this doll and find her paper name badge to add great charm.
