This 17 inch tall doll has a 4 ¾ inch tall bisque shoulder head manufactured in the 1870s by the Conta & Boehme Porcelain Factory. The head has a fancy blonde hairstyle with exposed pierced ears and a gold metallic bow decoration. The back of the shoulder plate is incised with the number 16. The vintage cotton cloth body with leather arms is appropriate but not as old as the head. The head is in good condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs except for a small crack and roughness on the tip of the nose. My pictures show this area. The doll wears a beautiful red polished cotton dress with white cotton eyelet trimmed underclothing. This elegant German lady deserves a spot among her French Fashion Parisienne contemporaries.
