This 7 ½ inch tall doll, circa the late 19th or early 20th century, is definitely of German origin I am not sure of the manufacturer; however, the bisque is very nice. The doll has a bisque socket head with tiny blue glass sleep eyes, and open mouth with upper teeth, and a blonde mohair wig. I believe she was most likely manufactured by Simon & Halbig but I am not sure. The marks, incised on the back of the head read, “made in Germany//12/0.” She has a five piece composition body with molded and painted brown one strap shoes with white socks. The head is in good condition with no chips, crack, or repairs. The blonde wig appears to be original. The body retains the original finish. The dress is antique silk with some melting and missing segments as can be seen in the photos. I still think it is lovely on her. She also wears a white cotton petticoat. This is a charming little doll!
