This 4 ¼ inch tall all bisque doll, circa the late 19th or early 20th century, is definitely of German origin. She has a stiff neck and is jointed at the shoulders and hips. The doll has painted facial features and a mohair wig. The clothing is sewn onto the doll and appears to be original to her. She has no chips, cracks, or repairs from my limited inspection. I did not want to disturb the originality by removing the clothing. The little German girl arrives in a vintage/antique box with other more contemporary costumes. The box measures 5 ½ X 6 ½ inches and is quite charming. This is a wonderful vignette.
