This 9 inch tall doll has a black painted wooded body jointed at the neck, shoulders, and hips. She has painted facial features and a red cotton kerchief head scarf. The doll wears her original cotton and wool costume and carries a burlap bag of potatoes. The wooden lady, circa the second quarter of the 20th century, is in very good condition with no repaint or repair. She has great folk art appeal. The head is loosely strung to the body. This could be tightened or the head could be affixed more permanently to the body. I will leave this to the future owner as I do not want to disturb the originality of the doll.
