This 24 inch tall doll, circa the 1860s, has a 6 inch china shoulder head with a modified flat top hairstyle. The doll head and china lower limbs were made in German by the Kister Porcelain Factory. The cloth body is quite appropriate but appears to have been made at a later time. Maybe the older body has been recovered as it looks very much like the original. The doll is deeply modeled with a lovely hairstyle. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs in the shoulder head. The doll is dressed appropriately in a vintage peach color satin dress with black lace trim. She also wears white cotton lace trimmed underclothing. This is a great early china head lady who is all ready for display.
