This 14 ½ inch tall doll, circa the late 19th or early 20th century, is constructed of black cotton fabric and stuffed with cotton batting. She is jointed at the shoulders and hips with minor age discoloration to the fabric and a few small holes. She is in good clean sturdy condition. The doll has embroidered facial features and black French knot hair. She wears an antique blue chambray cotton dress decorated with trim and lace edging. I adore these early dolls that exhibit just individual personality and were obviously hand sewn to be loved by a child of the past.
