This 16 inch tall doll with a 4 ½ inch bisque shoulder head was manufactured by the German firm of Kling & Company. I believe that the cloth body with lower bisque arms and legs is original to the head. The lower legs end in black flat bottom painted shoes. The clothing has been specifically sewn for this doll and also appears to be original. I adore all original dolls and, because of the pristine condition of this lovely lady, I have kept her in my collection for a number of years. The bisque head has a detailed hairstyle with many curls and braids. The facial features are painted. The shoulder plate is molded as a dress bodice with tucking and metallic gold buttons. The doll wears layers of antique white cotton underclothing and a three piece dress of white cotton with blue stripes. The dress is sewn on the doll so I do not want to disturb the originality by removing the clothing. I would hope that the future owner would respect the rare originality of this doll and not remove the clothing either. The doll is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs to the bisque. The body is clean and sturdy and the clothing is in excellent condition. If you love beautiful dolls in original condition, this is a doll for you!
