This 11 ½ inch tall doll, circa the first third of the 20th century, is certainly a mystery. She is all original and attached to a square wooden stand. The body is hard stuffed and the legs are wood covered by red knit fabric. The fingers are constructed from rolled fabric. The head is a round ball covered with fabric that has painted facial features including a beauty mark on the forehead and cheek. The all original clothing is in good condition except that the red silk has melted somewhat. The costume is quite detailed numerous layers and much detail. This doll has been in my collection for a number of years as I found her uniquely crafted and the originality appealed to me.
