This 17 inch tall doll, circa the early 20th century, was manufactured by the German firm of Schoenau & Hoffmeister. She has a bisque socket head, an open mouth with two upper teeth and blue glass sleep eyes, and a mohair wig. I believe the wig is most likely original to the doll. This doll is on the rarer five piece toddler body rather than a bent limb baby body. The back of the head is incised, “Germany//S PB Hanna/3.” The head is in good condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. There are irregularities evident on both ears. I believe these are not later damage but occurred when the doll was originally fired as the pink tint covers all areas. I have photographed the ears so that the buyer can see these areas. The ears are completely covered by the pigtail wig. Hanna’s body retains the original finish with some wear and a couple of holes that I have also photographed. She wears a vintage cotton print dress with later knit panties and newer shoes. I have always liked the Hanna mold as she is such a wide eyed little imp.
