This 11 ½ inch tall doll, circa the early 20th century, was manufactured in Germany by Hertwig & Company. The doll has molded and painted facial features and blonde hair. The shoulder plate is decorated as a white blouse with a collar, bow, and buttons. The original body is cloth, jointed at the shoulders and hips, has bisque lower arms and legs. The legs end in brown glazed heeled boots. The body is sturdy with some age discoloration and patching at the knees. The head has no cracks or repairs but there is some inherent roughness and slight chipping along the base. This does not look like later damage but more likely occurred when the head was manufactured. There are also some small lines around the eyes that also occurred in the doll's creation. These look prominent in the closeup photos but are actually quite minute and barely visible to the naked eye.
