This 18 inch tall doll has a poured wax shoulder head with a cloth body and wax lower arms and legs. She is in completely original condition. Circa the mid 19th century, this is a fabulous doll dressed as a peddler and comes directly from London. She wears her completely original costume including all of her merchandise for sale. All of her wears are still originally sewn to a cardboard that is hung around her neck. The clothing has never been removed from the doll so I did not want to disturb the originality. The doll has a slightly smiling closed mouth, her original human hair wig, and blue glass set eyes. Obviously there is some cracking to the wax on the face and lower arms but it does appear to be quite stable. She retains her two bonnets and her wonderful pair of leather shoes along with all original underclothing, dress, and apron. This is a treasure that truly belongs in a museum. If you collect early wax, all original dolls, or peddler dolls, don’t miss this opportunity.
