This 17 inch tall doll, circa the late 19th century, was manufactured by the German firm of C.M. Bergman. The doll has a bisque socket head and a bent limb composition baby body. She has set brown glass eyes and an open mouth with tongue. She retains her original cardboard pate and blonde mohair wig. The head is incised, “C.M. Bergman//Spezial” and is in good condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The body retains its original finish. The baby wears an antique lace trimmed baby bonnet and an antique white cotton gown. This doll has sweet character face and is rather rare.
