This 18 inch tall character doll, circa 1912, was manufactured by the German firm of Bruno Schmidt. He has a solid dome bisque head with glass sleep eyes, an open mouth with teeth, and molded and painted hair. The doll has his original ball jointed composition body with some repaint. The head, incised “2048//4” on the back of the neck, is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, repairs. Tommy wears the typical Little Lord Fauntleroy costume consisting of a black two piece suit with a white lace trimmed cotton shirt. He is a great young boy doll that would be a charming escort for any little girl character dolls of the early 20th century.
