This early Moravian 18 ½ inch tall cloth doll, circa the early 20th century, has an ink drawn face probably drawn by Clara Turner. These dolls have been created by the Ladies Sewing Society of the Central Moravian Church since 1872. This doll wears her original pink check cotton dress with her white lace trimmed pinafore. She has her white cotton underclothing, white socks, and black shoes. She is missing her crochet bonnet and, I believe, the petticoat with lace is old but a replacement. This doll is in good clean condition. Her face is wonderful. These dolls are such a part of history. Every cloth doll owner should have one in his/her collection.
