This 12 inch tall doll, circa the early 20th century, was manufactured by the German firm of Gebruder Heubach. The doll has a bisque socket head and a ball jointed composition body. The body has the original finish and is an especially nice heavy well articulated body. The head has brown glass sleep eyes and an open mouth with upper teeth. The brown mohair wig may be original to the doll but I am not sure. The back of the neck is marked with the Heubach Square mark and "8192.//Germany//Gebruder Heubach//G 4 H." The head is in good condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The doll is dressed in a newer well made red cotton dress, lace trimmed pinafore and cotton underclothing. She has newer socks and antique shoes. I am always drawn to this mold with those large luminous eyes and plumb cheeks.
