This 20 inch tall doll, circa 1910, has a bisque socket head and composition ball jointed body. The doll has brown glass sleep eyes and an open mouth with teeth. The original wig is curly black mohair. She has character features with very black color to the bisque. The head is incised, "1358//Germany//Simon & Halbig//S&H//7." The head is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. There is a small pin dot size spot on the right ear lobe where the pierced ear has rubbed away the black finish. As can be seen in the photos, there are the typical wig pulls that are completely hidden by the wig. The doll wears her all original costume. She even retains her original beaded earrings and black leather heeled shoes. The clothing colors remain vibrant. Miss S&H wears white cotton lace trimmed pantaloons and polished cotton cream and beige petticoats. Her dress is red cotton. She also has cotton red print shawl with a matching kerchief on her head. The black ball jointed body is in excellent condition. I did not undress this doll as I did not want to disturb her originality. She is the most wonderful example of this doll mold that I have ever seen. She has been in my personal collection for several years. They just don't get any better than this!
