This rare Jumeau doll has a bisque socket head with cardboard hood depicting the art character models 203 and 211, with an alternate face on the front and back of her head, They are turned with a metal hook at the top of the head. Each face has blue glass eyes and painted features, one face depicting a laughing child with a broad grin and a row of porcelain teeth, the other a crying child with squinting brown glass eyes, and a mouth modeled wide open, and with a sculpted tongue and an upper row of teeth. She has a fully jointed Jumeau composition and wood body with the Jumeau seal on her back. She has a working mama crier mechanism with original string and pink bead. Her body has some repaint her head is perfect.
Her costume is a lovely 2 piece gold and brown silk with brocade bodice, which may be original. Although the silk of the elbows and skirt are melting it is still display worthy. She wears an antique slip and bloomers, antique shoes and socks. She has a lace bonnet made to conceal the hood and hook by which the head is changed. She is offered at a very reasonable price.
