Gebruder Heubach was a well known dollmaker of Thuringia Germany. He is also known for porcelain figurines of artistic quality. This small white shaggy dog is a good examples of the Heubach figurines of the early 20th century. Note the beautiful intaglio eyes and the distinct modeling of the fur, in particular around the face. From all angles the excellent detail and early from the mold quality is apparent. This smaller dog has the purple stamp used on the figurines with the superimposed G & H initials and the sunburst insignia. This little guy is 5.5" tall and without flaw. The large size dog is shown as item JF-09-A27. Together they could make a "parent & child" set.
