Gorgeous art nouveau locket by Wightman and Hough Co. (in operation from 1856-1922) depicts a woman's face with eyes closed and flowing hair. It is adorned with 5 paste stones. The locket is suspended from an ornate book chain link necklace. Each link has a floral design and the front and back are the same.
The locket has its frames and plastic inserts. It is signed W&H Co in a heart. I believe it is rolled gold. The locket is engraved with initials on the back. (Unfortunately I can't quite figure out what the initials are...)
The locket has a slight rose gold tone to it, while the necklace is more yellow gold but has a rose gold toned clasp.
The paste stones have darkened over time, not at all unusual for a locket this age. There is very minor wear to the finish on the locket and the chain is in excellent condition. My photos make it look like the locket has dents, it does not. (The wear looks much more pronounced in the photos than actually is.)
The chain measures 18 x 3/8 inches, the locket is 1.5 x 1 .25 inches including the small bale.
