Incredibly charming carousel horse pin by John Caianiello, circa 1946. The brooch is sterling with a gold wash. The top border of the Merry Go Round is set with emerald green rhinestone baguettes. The horse has black enamel on its mane, tail, and saddle with a red enamel eye. There is also red enamel on the very top of the carousel. This is a heavy and extremely well made figural pin.
The pin is in excellent condition with very minimal enamel loss. I located the same pin with clear rhinestones on another site for $365.
This measures 1 7/8 x 1 1/4 inches and is marked STERLING, PAT. PEND.
An eclectic mix, from Victorian to Mexican silver to rhinestones. You can never have enough jewelry!
