I am thrilled to offer this very hard to find (unsigned) Marcel Boucher bird brooch, circa 1940. This magnificent specimen is set in rhodium plated metal with pale yellow and fuchsia enameled plumage. Its body, legs, and feathers are accented with clear rhinestones. Although unsigned, I am confident this is a genuine piece by Boucher. It matches other signed examples I have found, including the patent. Plus I have consulted some other costume jewelry experts and collectors who all agree it is indeed a genuine Boucher. It does have a very small #3 imprinted by the pink clutch, most likely the stone setter's mark. It also has some numbers and letters hand scratched into it.
The condition is outstanding, only a minor amount of enamel loss on the head over the eye and in front. The rhinestones are much brighter than my pictures reveal. It measures 3.75 x 1.25 inches (9.5 x 4.5cm).
It is truly a work of art!
