An Art Nouveau period centrepiece with German 800 silver marks including crown, half moon and maker's initials dating c 1890. The solid silver cover rests on four feet, has typical Junglestil designs featuring berries and the cut crystal insert is original. It measures 11" across including the handles x 3 7/8" wide x 4 7/8" tall. The cut crystal insert is 7" x3 3/4" x3 1/4". In very good condition for the age, the silver cover has some superficial scratching and needs better cleaning. The cut glass insert has a few minor nicks that could easily be polished off (there are two "rough" areas on the rim).
