I cannot decide if I think this has a Victorian style or is Native American in appearance, so I think I'll just call it wonderful, if that's all right with you. Unlike some artisans, I do not always approach a project with a design already in mind. More often, the design evolves as I am creating it, which means there can be a lot of jumping up involved, as I discover I don't have all the components I need. This necklace was obviously designed around the beautiful pendant of sterling and turquoise which, incidentally, is pre-owned. (For my discourse on this terminology, see item number 070416N!)
The pendant dangles 2-3/4 inches from the necklace of Chinese turquoise heishi beads, with sterling silver and carnelian beads for drape and contrast. The piece is 17-1/2 inches around and closes with a delicate sterling silver hook clasp. If you need more measurements, shoot me an email. Oh, yes. The turquoise in the necklace was presumably dyed and stabilized. ( Do you suppose we could get the folks who do the stabilizing to work their magic on this crazy world?)
Thank you for coming to my shop today. I am honored.
