This handsome, bold necklace features a Baule brass face mask pendant, hand crafted in the Cote d'Ivoire. Actually, it's the only African piece in the entire necklace, but I think the overall look is African, and calling it that is my prerogative. The piece is 27 inches around, with a pendant drop of 2-1/2 inches, and closes with a sturdy antiqued brass hook clasp.
The remainder of the beads, with the exception of the lava rock, came from Tibet or Nepal. They include six 14mm dark brass rounds, two 18mm bright brass rounds, two wonderful brass, turquoise and coral cone beads, and two distinguished 26mm red resin beauties.
I don't know where the lava rock beads are from but I'm going to pretend they're from Hawaii, since I love that place so much. I also love Africa, which I was privileged to call home for 2-1/2 years, and that's the other reason I entitled this an African necklace. (Would you like to have my complete bio? Just kidding!)
I don't usually identify my creations as "statement pieces," but I have a feeling you would make a statement with this one. It is very bold and very beautiful, just like you. Own it! (Double entendre intended.)
From my heart to yours, Connie
