This is the first in a new series of orchid essence jewelry, about which more later. It was crafted of ocean blue Larimar, the beautiful stone that is found in only one place in the world: the Dominican Republic. All the other components are Sterling silver except the two designer beads, which are Sterling silver plate over white bronze. The necklace is 18 inches from end to end, including the hammered Sterling silver S-clasp. The Larimar pendant, in the shape of a seashell, measures 1-1/2 by 1-3/8 inches, but dangles 2 inches from the necklace due to the Sterling bail.
So what is an orchid essence necklace, anyway? It is a piece to which have been added two drops of a specific orchid essence developed on the island of Gigha in Scotland. The essence used on this necklace is called "Masdevallia Flying Colours." A picture of the orchid is shown in the last photograph.
This essence releases karmic patterns which are held in the eighth chakra (the one just above the head). The eighth chakra indicates how spiritual knowledge and power have been used in the past. It also helps to free up rigid belief patterns as well as use and choose words wisely when we speak.
