This pair of brown blown glass antique French paperweight eyes dates from approximately 1881-83. The eyes were the originals in a Bru Jne 2. They are wonderful blown glass with a high dome and paperweight effect. There is a dark brown limbal ring, and delicately threaded irises. As with anything hand made, no two are alike, and the back part of the eyes are not perfectly matched. However, the pupils and irises match perfectly as does the width. The eyes are 15mm wide. The diameter of the pupils is 7mm. The eyes are 8.5mm high from back to front.
On the close-up photos some scratches over the pupils are visible, however, these cannot be seen with the naked eye nor with ordinary magnification.
