Eloxal aluminum was used in Germany in the 1940s - 1960s to make these wonderful pieces. It was used in other countries as well but mainly Germany. Eloxal is the name given to this versatile lightweight aluminum that has a special non-corrosive finish that will not tarnish. You can't beat that! Eloxal is the abbreviation for electrolytic oxidation of aluminum. It looks much heavier than it is and was made into wonderful, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, etc.
Most Eloxal is silver colored so that makes this bracelet a bit unusual. What is amazing to me is that it still looks great with minor scratching from wear but, overall, it looks wonderful! It is super lightweight, too. There is very nice vertical linear texturing between the solid thin stripes all around the bangle.
It measures 2 3/4" in diameter and 3/8" wide. It is signed W. GERMANY on the inside.
