Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! Fresh from an old estate, this strikingly bold 14K yellow gold ring sports a huge whiskey quartz or root beer topaz stone that measures 17mm X 12 mm and is mounted on an open style raised setting in order to reflect more light under the stone for a sparkling appearance. The substantial 14K gold setting fans out in the corners with eight prongs in pairs of two surrounding the stone. It is a pleasure to wear and an attention getting piece for sure.
The ring top measures 13/16" high and 5/8" wide not including the shank on either side. The shank is nicely made and measures 3mm wide at the back and not thin at all. It is a sturdy ring. It is marked 18K and I had it tested in several places on the ring - just checking. It does not test positive for 18K but does test positive for 14K so this is what I have used to base my pricing. There are a couple of other marks inside the shank and due to the position, on the back, I could not get a good photo. It measures a size 6 1/2 and, due to the opening behind the stone, it will fit a bit larger finger - it will fit a size 6 3/4 as well. I wear a size 7 and I can get it on but it's a tight fit and not recommended without sizing it. It weighs 6.5 grams. There is a tiny nick on the stone and a rub mark on the top of the shank at the back. Other than that, it is in excellent condition and looks to have been worn very little.
