These modernist studio earrings are wonderfully designed and beautifully executed with a combination of sterling and yellow gold. Each is different from the other but they are the same size. The lower sterling section is pierced with wavy lines and pin dots with a different free form top edge on each one. The wires are ovals made of sturdy, perfectly formed, 14KP yellow gold. 14KP includes a "P" for plumb indicating that the gold content is a minimum of 14K in the piece bearing that mark, and not any less gold. Some pieces marked 14K could be a bit less gold that 14 karats.
The earrings are signed 1987 on one and the copyright symbol along with illegible initials indicating the maker, 925 and 14KP, on the other. 925 indicates 925/1000 parts of silver indicating sterling.
The earrings measure 2" high from the top of the ear wire to the bottom, and 1 1/4" wide. The wires fit perfectly into a little pocket on the edge - see photos. There is tension on the wires to secure them in place. They float on your earlobes and sparkle with any movement. They are in excellent condition and look great on.
