Since Beaucraft started its business in 1947, this posey holder is a Victorian revival piece. They were used extensively during the Victorian era. If you are a fresh flower person, this is the perfect way to pick or buy a posy and wear it! The brooch pin is cleverly made so that the bar flares out in front with a sharp pin protruding towards the back so that the flower or leaves can be anchored in place. I picked some fresh chrysanthemums and a rose bud from my garden to demonstrate the wonderful effects of this great piece. Due to its size, several small flowers and leaves can be accommodated inside the bar pin. Very cleverly designed and executed. You will have a pin that can match the season based on the flowers you wear. Now that's versatility!
It measures a full 2 1/4" long and 1/2" high at the center "rose". The bar sections are 3/16" high. The detail is wonderful. It is signed BEAU STERLING. I have been unable to find another from Beau so this may well be a rare piece. Excellent condition. Flowers not included.
