These vintage sterling silver cufflinks and tie bar were hand-made in Mexico in the shape of fancy sombrero.
The hinged toggle cuff links are about 1" high from top of the hat to the bar (when on the shirt and the bar is perpendicular to the post). The somberos are 13/16" in diameter. The fronts of the crowns are stamped "Mexico" ( a fitting souvenir reference to the warm vacation destination). The upturned brims have floral patterns and their is a twisted wire cord around the crown.
As the posts are hinged at the top, too, they are easy to put in/remove from French cuffs and they allow more movement of the shirt cuffs on your wrists.
The tie bar's sombrero is 1 1/2" long and the sombrero is 9/16" in diameter. It has the same fine detailing as the larger hats.
The Eagle 19 assay mark and "Eras" are stamped on all three pieces. Condition is very fine.
