This vintage Russian sterling silver vermeil/gilt egg and bow brooch pin has cloisonne' enamel and crystals in a classic turn-of-the-century design which nods to the famous creations of Faberge'..
The egg is 1" high and total height is 1 7/8"; width of the bow is 1 3/8". The egg has royal blue on the upper band of inverted hearts, emerald green in the middle with rolling curves and a genuine amber cabochon on the bottom. Rows of crystals sparkled above and below the green. The crystals appear to have a slight yellow tinge to them in the photos, but it's just a reflection of the gold, they are colorless.
The bow has guilloche' blue enamel with ribs on each segment and crystals all around the edges. The ring holding the egg and bow is soldered. This and the styles of enamel plus hanging loop are typical characteristics of hand-made Russian enamel eggs. The pin has no marks (also typical) but it has been tested and is sterling. The pin has a safety clasp. Condition is very fine.
