These mid 20th century earrings from Guadalajara, Mexico, have sterling hoops with hand-twisted and applied wire scrolls encircling rings of graduated turquoise cabochons.
Each hoop is 1 3/8" in diameter; height with the cab-fronted top is 1 7/8". The tapered-end hoops are intentionally darkened to contrast with the raised wire-work and cabs. The screw-on fittings
On each earring back is stamped "Plata de Jalisco, V.H.L.C., Guad., Mex" around a triangle with ".925" inside. The eagle 50 assay mark is to the left.
The earrings are in very fine condition. If you wear pierced earrings, you can remove the screw top and substitute a stud or ear wire.
