This outstanding Egyptian cast silver cuff bracelet has a big scarab within a rectangular pierced frame on the front and the sides are a wealth of raised hieroglyphics and Egyptian symbols.
The front rectangular panel measures 1 7/16” (35mm) high and 1 3/16” (21mm) wide. The side bands taper from 15/16” to 7/16”. The back opening is 1 3/16” and the width across the inside center is 2 9/16”. The cuff can be adjusted to be a bit larger or smaller to suit you. It can accommodate larger wrists or also wearing on the forearm or upper arm, if slender.
On each side band is a large Eye of Horus and also18 boxes, each with a different Egyptian symbol or icon, including an Ankh, falcon, a crook and a flail, scarab, snake, Pharaoh hound, and several Egyptian letters.
The hallmarks on the end include the mark for Egyptian 80 silver punch-mark (the bracelet tests just under American sterling in purity) and the date code, which we believe is for 1949-1951. The 80 mark is also on the inside of the scarab panel.
Condition is very fine. This is not a thin stamped cuff ; it is a solid cast silver bracelet with an approximate weight of 36.5 grams.
