This Coro brooch pin was designed by Adolph Katz, and patented 1942, and has layered scrolls or volutes on each side of a very large amethyst glass jewel.
With the feel of the Golden Years of Hollywood, the generously sized brooch is 2 7/8" wide, 1 1/2" high, and 5/8" deep.
The octagonal amethyst glass octagon is a full 1 1/8" high and has no chips, cracks, or scratches.
The back of the brooch has the Coro hallmark and the pin stem has a safety catch. There is light wear on some high areas and edges and the smaller scrolls, but it is not obvious. It's a fabulous design with noticeable presence, worthy of a big name screen star of the day.
