This dainty 1930s sterling silver collar or lace pin is made of sterling silver and enameled in the guilloche' method with a full-bloom pink rose.
The slightly domed, oval pin is 7/8" wide and 9/16" high. The background is engraved with a starburst pattern and enameled in white. The rose is hand-painted in bright pink and burgundy and the leaves are shades of green on brown stems. There is a tiny rosebud upper right. The perimeter is glossy smooth black.
The back is gold-plated to prevent tarnish. The hallmark is two back-to-back letters W with 925S. This is likely the mark of Aksel Holmsen of Norway and this is an uncommon design from the maker. Condition is excellent.
