This antique late Georgian/Early Victorian 15K yellow gold pendant necklace is entirely hand-made with a trefoil (clover) drop suspended from a novelty chain.
The chain is 14” long which for many women will fall just above the hollow at the base of the neck. The pendant is 3/4"” wide by 13/16” high (with snap on hook, height is 1”). In the center is a single white round half pearl, held with five prongs. The pendant has a hook clasp at the top and can be removed from the chain. It fits easily onto the twisted wire ring at the center of the chain.
The necklace has elements of Etruscan style jewelry with fine filigree coils, tiny twisted wires forming the petals of the central flower, and uniformly shaped links in the chain--with ribbed textures on the twisted links and rope-twist on the cylindrical links. The clasp is a replacement, slightly different gold in tone. The detail is best appreciated by studying the back of the pendant.
Condition is very fine with no damage. The necklace has been tested and is 15K in purity, (Warranted at 14K) a common European standard for the time. Total weight is approximately 6.5 grams.
