This vintage service emblem or award was given to a staff member of Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, MA. It is made of 10K yellow with a ruffled wire rim and a white gold center supporting the "MAH" logo and a genuine white diamond and two emerald color green spinels.
Width of the pendant is 15/16" and thickness is about 3mm--the logo, white gold teardrop base and gold circle are three layers. The diamond is 2mm wide and the spinels are 3mm. The background of the yellow gold disk and the teardrop have a fine Florentine texture; the border of the teardrop, the logo and the edges of the gold disk are brightly polished.
The bail is stamped "1/20 12K G.F.". The pendant is 10K (we have tested it) and the gift box's tag reads "10K Emblem". Weight of the pendant alone is 6.4 grams.
The S-link neck chain is 18" long and has a spring-ring clasp stamped "1/20 12KT" and the tag is stamped "AJC 1/20-12K Co". Condition is unworn and excellent.
The necklace comes in a tan simulated leather box with brown velveteen pad.
