A beautiful reverse jasperware Wedgwood bowl in white with blue figures. The decoration is referred to as the "Sacrifice Figures", described by Robin Reilly in "Wedgwood - The New Illustrated Dictionary"
Condition is great, with no after market problems, only a bit of dirt on the bottom of the foot. The marks are as shown, with "78" being the year of production. Measures 7 3/4" in diameter, and 3 3/4" tall.
Striking in this coloration, and a wonderful addition to a collection. A lovely piece.
