This tiny rosary is simply wonderful with it's heart shaped brass center displaying Our Lady framed by the words " O Marie Concue Sans Peche 1830" on one side, and traditional Marian symbolism on the verso along with the word "France". The brass crucifix features an embossed corpus with a radiant halo, and the Latin acronym INRI. A beautiful accessory for an antique doll.
The tiny beads are particularly lovely white opaline glass, translucent with an inner 'fire' that glows amber when transmitting light and almost blue when unlit, a typical property of old opaline.
The attached medal is from Lourdes, showing Our Lady surrounded by the words "Je Suis L'immaculle Conception", the verso displaying St. Bernadette with the apparition of the Immaculate Conception along with the well worn word "Lourdes".
Condition is lovely, the piece has a wonderful warm patina and energy. The crucifix measures only 7/8" long and the center heart less than 1/2" long, the loop measures 6 3/4" when laid out straight (13 1/2" around), and the pendant measures 2 1/2". So the entire rosary measures approximately 11" when stretched out straight, beautifully sized for dolly devotions. Just a super antique piece.
