Antique Dresser Tray with Hand Painted Roses - 19th C Porcelain - image 1 of 9

This beautiful antique tray comes from the estate of the family of Admiral Ralph Chandler who served in the US Navy in the Mexican American War, the American Civil War, and in the Asiatic Squadron during the late 19th C. It was painted by one of his daughters who was quite an accomplished china painter, and still bears some family history written in pencil on its unglazed back including the date 1865 or 1885 (either would be possible), as well as the signature of the artist, "M D Chandler." A beautiful piece with a distinguished history.

Condition is excellent antique, I see no issues. I'm not sure who made the blank. Measures 8 1/4" x 12 3/16.

Roses are a favorite with today's collectors, and this lovely piece will make a fine addition to a collection, the provenance adding another dimension of appreciation. A very desirable piece indeed. Enjoy!
