A remarkable piece of antique Wedgwood decorated with blue and white transfers in the Ferrara pattern. An unusual form, with a fragile, arching handle and a delicate raised foot. It’s a wonder to have survived all these years.

The Farrara pattern with its characteristic ships is displayed only at the bottom of the bowl. The blue transfer is dark and intense with blue pooling of the glaze under the foot.

Condition is fantastic. As I mentioned, this basket, handle and all, is unbroken. No chips, cracks, hairlines, or repairs that I can see. There is a small glaze adhesion from the manufacture near the base of the handle on one side. The date code "3QO" on this piece indicates a date of 1912, but the blue tinge of the glaze where it pools under the foot is characteristic of the glazes used on earlier pearlware. Measures 6 ⅞” (L) x 5 ⅛” (W) x 4 ½” (H). Weighs 8.8 oz.

Much less common than tableware, and rarer still because of its vulnerable handle, this sweet little basket is ready for your collection. Enjoy!
