A lovely antique American pastel by artist O. Arnold. This delicious painting is in its original turn-of-the-century frame (that's the turn of the 19th C into the 20th). This piece is crisply rendered with a sure hand, and the pastel medium is well suited to capture the bloom and blush of ripe fruit. I've handled other pastels by O Arnold in the past and they've all been winners. The 'yard long' format of this painting is a versatile and popular size, and even though it isn't quite a yard long the moniker fits.
Framed in a beautiful period American Oak frame and ready to hang on your wall.
CONDITION is excellent antique. The frame shows normal age and wear. I have had this piece backed with a new archival acid free board and a black paper dust cover, it should be good for another hundred years. Measures 29 3/8" x 10 3/8" overall, with a sight size of 25 5/8" x 6 5/8". Weighs 3 lbs. 10 oz.
Perfect for a dining room, kitchen, or would look great in a breakfast nook. Lovely and luscious. Enjoy!
