A charming print of a farm family in the field at harvest time. The image presents itself in ascending layers effectively moving your eye through the composition with the woman and child at the bottom front, the man with pitchfork in the middle ground above them, the farm and pond above and behind him, and finally the distant town and hills at the top behind all.
I believe this is a lithograph, with the colors perhaps being some sort of block print, I'm not certain, but I am sure that this is a fine art print, NOT a common photo lithograph done with halftone screens. It is pencil signed by the artist at the lower right, although I cannot make out the name even though I have seen this artists work before; if you know who this artist is I'd appreciate an email. Numbered 103 / 250 at the lower left, and titled in the center "Almuerzo en el Campo" which translates from the Spanish as "Lunch in the Field."
CONDITION is great. The print is double matted, framed, and ready to hang. Measures 20 1/4 x 25 1/4" overall with the sight size inside the double mat measuring 12 1/2" x 18".
A wonderful image celebrating the harvest and the inherent wholesomeness and dignity of manual farm labor, with the colors perfectly complementing the subject. Enjoy!
