There was a time when the well dressed man had a wardrobe of cufflinks for every occasion, and if he were especially lucky, he might have had a pair like these handsome double sided links. But why let the guys have all the fun, today these beautiful links are just as appropriate for a woman. Rich and understated, the subtle contrast of the rose and yellow gold is a whisper of refinement.
These links display a classic Art Deco center motif on yellow gold - stripes, alternating between sleek black enamel rectangles and yellow gold-on-gold ribs with tiny diamond shaped decoration. The surrounding border of flourishes in rose gold shows design influences that harken back to Art Nouveau and earlier Victorian times, not just the curving organic form, but the mixing of rose and yellow gold in one piece, an early touch.
CONDITION is grand with no problems, just normal, gentle wear. These links bear the mark of Kohn & Company above the 14K mark on the back. Kone was active from the earliest years of the 20th C through the 1930's or so. Not much is known about them except that they were based in Newark, NJ, as were many American cufflink makers of the early 20th C. Each of the four plaques measures 11/16" x 7/16".
These beauties are perfect for the well turned cuff of a lady or gent, and will take you from the board room on to dinner, and even out dancing if that's on the schedule. Treat yourself or someone special. Enjoy!
Your cufflinks will arrive wrapped in a fitted box. Suitable for gifting.
