A double spouted Royal Worcester vase in their blush ivory finish with sculptural figurehead decoration on both sides. A young man on one side, a lovely young woman on the other, both draped in Grecian style. Beautiful, and unusual.
This uncommon piece bears two marks, an impressed British Registry Mark for the date June 8, 1875, and the familiar Royal Worcester printed mark in puce, the dot pattern indicating an 1898 date. From these two marks, I believe that the mold was created in 1875 with the Registry Mark, and this particular piece was created in 1898.
CONDITION is as good as you would wish. I see no problems at all with this piece. The busts were likely sculpted by Hadley, but unsigned. Measures 11" side to side, and 7" tall.
For those of you who love Royal Worcester, this will be a wonderful addition to your collection. It's not a piece you're likely to see again anytime soon. Unusual and sublime. Enjoy!
