Here is a Very Unusual Sterling Box imported by Samuel Boyce Landeck in 1902 from the Netherlands. It features elaborate repoussed Oriental scenes of a boat, a woman fishing, a Pagoda etc. On the inner lid of the box is a second set of hallmarks with the lion passant, the F import mark, and an obscure mark that looks like a Minerva head. This Miniature Cello is beautifully crafted with fine detail. The hinges are tight, and the box closes snugly. The interior is gold washed.
Nice Size, this little treasure measures 3 1/4" long x 1 1/8" wide x 3/8" deep. It weighs 34.1 oz.
Condition is Excellent.
Please Note: We are also listing another snuff box of the same era, and genre. This other listing is a Miniature Piano.
