Brian Clarke - Ireland - Sterling Silver - Modernist -Container Jar
Here is a Rare and Unusual Container from a truly remarkable Silver smith, Brian Clarke of Ireland. Mr Clarke started running his own Studio in 1973, and began the Irish School of Metalsmithing in 1993. He is devoted to his work. Please google "Brian Clarke Ireland" to learn about this skillful artisan, and his passion for his work. We are listing several other works of art handcrafted by Mr. Clarke, as we bought a small collection of his containers. We think that they are world class, and hope that you will too. Fully signed for Brian Clarke in the years just prior to the opening of his studio in 1973.
This is the 1971 Golf motif container. Mr. Clarke used patterned Sterling sheet for the walls on this piece, which is overlapped. He also liked the look of one wall being higher than the other. The pictures show all.
The specs on this container are as follows: 69.1 grams weight, Diameter is 1 13/16". Height is 2 1/4" high with the top on.
Condition is Vintage Excellent.
