Here’s an Exceptional and Important Sterling Silver Watch Band, hand wrought by one of the earliest Hopi Silver Smiths. Allen Pooyama began his long career in 1937. This overlay style was popular before the Hopi’s adopted the deep overlay technique with textured background, that became the Hopi signature style. The Turquoise featured on this Stunning Watch Band is very similar to pictures that we have of Godber Turquoise selling for $15 per carat at the Tucson Gem Show in 2009. The mine was obtained by Walter Godber in 1937. This Superb piece is Museum Quality and signed for Allen Pooyama.
Nice Size, This Watch Band is 1 ¼” wide at its widest part, and 1 ½” long, not including the tube that holds the watch pin, which is 5/8” long. Both sections together weigh 34.7 grams, over 1 oz.
Condition is Vintage Excellent.
A former owner of this watch band has his name inscribed in it.
